Uncle Donnie's 80th birthday

It was quite a surprise to Uncle Donnie when the doors to a private room at his favorite restaurant opened up and 50 people are sitting there  to wish him happy birthday.

We called him in the morning from Moncton and he said his nephew Neil was taking him to dinner for his birthday , little did he know we all would be there also.  It was a nice tribute to a Man who has been such a big part of our lives.

Kate and Trent were along with us and Mal Jr.... Sue and Rob came after dropping Garret off at his lacrosse practice , Garret was not to pleased that he wasn't going to party but looks like he is coming back down on Wed with us (his birthday) but another lacrosse practice before heading west for nationals end of month.

stingers

Well Mal was like a kid in a candy store when he went to mail box and got a parcel from my cousins in Washington, the stinger tees for golf .  Malcolm had bought  a bag in Myrtle Beach to bring home and when we got here there was no sign of them, believe me we turned this house upside down.
Anyway Claire and Pat picked him up not one bag but 2 and he was so excited here dancing around with his tees......

All three children here for awhile but Malcolm jr who is on holidays took the boys to Movies and Kate went for a haircut with her grandfather while he was out and about.  I made 2 more pies today so probably the last of rubarb for another season.

See you tomorrow...

A great moment to see baby ducks with Mom and dad passing through the parking lot at Champlain Mall yesterday (probably on their way to the Marsh) but if those babies see Crystal Palace Mom and dad might have a hard time getting them past. lol

Another sunny day yesterday, Trent up early with Grampie heading to dentist before golf.

Today I am wishing our good friends Anitha and Rama a very happy 45th anniversary.....have a good day with family in Ontario.

Good report on arm....

Found these funny satings on internet and sharing for you to see.

Good morning, well wasn't it a beautiful day yesterday?  It was so nice to sit outside with my coffee
listening to the birds chirp away before heading to the dr to get update on arm.  Well first a 2 hr wait,
but I've seen us wait up to 4 hrs before.  Did get a great report, doctor said I was really moving arm well and he would suggest I keep doing what I am doing and avoid therapy.  Go back in 3 weeks for xrays.

Dropped over to Susan's, picked Kate up from Dentist and met her new friend Austin, seems like a very nice boy.  He was very friendly to us.

Trent staying the night as he has an early dentist appointment 7:45..... so an early night for us all.

EDNA. PAT AND PAT

REED, EDNA, PAT AND PAT

Had a great weekend with Pat D, we spend 3 days eating, shopping, laughing and scrapbooking
and even added Trents lacrosse game to our schedule.  This was the end of lacrosse for the season for
Trent and they won for their devision.  Garret continue's on playing at the Provincial level out of
Saint John, heading with the team and his family to Vancouver first of August.

Pat enjoyed the two markets on Saturday and got  some homemade gifts early.  I got cookies for a snack Saturday night while we scrapbooked.  We completed a 6x6 book and after she left I remembered I forgot to take a few pictures....

On Sunday Edna and Reed arrived and brought me some homemade goodies from Edna's kitchen. lol  She looks so relaxed since she retired a month ago, where a month went I don't know. Again we had some laughs

Painting on wood

Paintings I seen that impressed me so much I wanted to share with you today.......

some amazing pictures to share - they are all drawings on a FLAT surface - a piece of wood -  and yet they look so dimensional.

We went to Trents lacrosse game, first not enough referees to start the game , finally the game started and then 5 minutes left of the game and a fight broke out, kids sent off the ice and then a mother got involved and that was it game over ...............unfortunately this happens but its a sin to see grown ups getting involved and removed, embarrassing for the player .  But in between they all played a good game.

Having my friend Pat down for a few days from Miramichi and looking forward to our get together, probably hit the markets on Saturday and maybe go to Shediac market if weather good.

Have a good day everyone....

Trent Graduates from grade 8

It was a lovely evening at Riverview East School when the first graduating class in the new school celebrated their entrance into high school ,and although Trent did not want to attend, his teacher called Sue and Rob to say he was up for an award and would like to have him there.  Well I think Trent was very surprised when he received the spirit award....
Meaning:
caring, insight, thoughtfulness, attention to detail, and dedication.  always has a smile and a kind word.  And that is Trent.....

Each student also received a framed certificate and a package made up by the teachers with words of encouragement as they move on in their lives remembering their past years. A slide show of the years from Kindergarden -grade 8 was shown of all the students.

A hot meal from Swiss Chalet was served to the students and their parents and cup cakes also made and decorated by the teachers.  A dance for the students followed which Garret was going to as well.

Fathers Day

Even in the rain I think we all enjoyed a nice Fathers Day weekend.....Friday we were back and forth to the Track and field rink with Garret running for his school, he ran 3 races.

Friday  a visit from Gary and Liz  from Amherst  started the morning, it was good to see them after spending time in Myrtle Beach with them. They are looking forward to next years trip to and plan on staying in same area as ourselves again.

Malcolm had a really great  fathers day, Malcolm Jr gave him his golf balls he likes, Susan and family gave him lobster and a few of his favorite bars and early supper at House of Lam., MalcolmJr  and I joined them and enjoyed the Chinese buffet so much.

Below is a video of a song I really liked and wanted to share with you to hear.  "Butterfly kisses"

Trent helps Grampy with yard work.

The nest Trent found in bushes

Trent holds the nest

Kate watches out the window

Garret with his Under Armour shirt he loves

Mom watching over her babies catches a little nap...

Last weekend Trent helped Grampy with yard work and came across an empty nest.  At first I was a little concerned as I knew we had a nest in the rose bush which was being occupied by the little lady sitting on guard on the fence........and she watches us when we come out the door to see that we don't disturb her little family.... You hear them churping away.

The daddy has joined the mom on fence and you would not believe how fast they scoop down for a worm and back to fence , look all around then dive into the rose bush, interesting to watch them.

Looking forward to a visit from Gary and Liz from Amherst this AM..

Today is Friday, where did the week go...... Hope you have a good weekend.

Nirupama travels to Europe

Good morning everyone and its another bright sunny day to enjoy.

Today I wanted to share with you some of the beautiful pictures Anitha's daughter Nirupama captured while in Europe, one thing I can say is she always takes the most interesting pictures of things that many of us would not think of taking.

Although she took hundreds of pictures these really caught my eye especially the bathroom sign. lol

School is winding down for the children, exams this week.  Garret is at track and field all day today, he loves his sports.

See ya..
