My cousins with their wives

Could not have spent a better anniversary than being together with the Shannon family at their reunion.  It was so nice
to see everyone, it had been 11 years since I seen most of them, WAY to long but this was certainly the year.

One very special person was missing , my cousin Gloria and I still miss her dearly.  We e-mailed back and forth, talked on
phone but we lost her this past year to Cancer as well as her youngest son Bill..

There was a dedication for those gone before us which we were unable to attend but we thought of all.

The Shannon's continued into the evening with dance and music..

Can you imagine someone taking the time to do such tiny details to the end of a pencil, All I can think about is the work involved and then to break the led.. .  Oh Oh..

Today is a rainy day, not much going on.  Anitha dropped by  to bring us a beautiful Orchid for our
45th anniversary..... (not till Saturday)...  Thank you Anitha and Rama..

remembering Shirley

Each day as I leave through the back door  of our home I am reminded of a very dear soul who lived
next door to me, Shirley and her son Todd.

Shirley passed away last year and many changes took place to the house next door. Todd moved, new people renoviated the house but I still see Shirley and Todd coming in the driveway and having a little chat with me.

Shirley made the models above of the church and school she attended as a young person along with all the farms that were in the area.  Each summer they came from the basement to attend the family reunion.  Today Todd dropped by to get the last two to donate to the church.....the others went to families of the area who owned the farms.

All are made of cardboard,  popsicle sticks and anything she could find for them and then painted.  Wonderful job Shirley.

Our beautiful plant was just about gone but Mac revived it.  Took another picture of it. Our favorite plant this year.

Lacrosse Fun Raiser

Patrick advertises the car wash and BBQ

The boys get to do grampie's car whow...

Sue was the chef...

We went over to Riverview to donate to the Lacrosse Field car wash as they prepare
to head to Halifax for the Nationals.

Riverview Tire were so generous to let the boys set up business at his garage, always there
for the kids..

We had to try the burgers and hot dogs and talk with other supporters coming out to support.

Great job Boys......

Surprise Visit

Many memories between these two characters.....

Don't think i'll ever be as tall as Mary Jayne....lol

Think we may have been 3 (Mary Jayne  playing shy ) which was usually me.

Boyd and Mary Jayne

What a great surprise to walk out the door and see my dear friend Mary Jayne and her husband Boyd pulling up
in front of the house.... You really made my day you two..........

On their way to PEI they had time to come by and boy in such a short time we covered lots of little stories of the
past. Wish Malcolm had been there to see them.

Remembering the past

One of the best decisions I ever made was attending St. Vincents High School . While in
Saint John I spoke to an artist in the market who promised me one day she would do a
picture of the Royal  Hotel where my parents both worked for over 30 years . I stopped to speak with her and before I knew it I was looking at the prints of our high schools and really wanted to
have them. A lot of memories for both of us.

Another hot day out there but enjoy it, before to long it will be fall coming and I must say my favorite time of year.

Market

A quick trip down to Saint John to see Uncle Donnie and oh how pleased we were to see him looking so good after a transfer to St. Joseph's hospital.  I think he is getting so much out of the people contact as well as going to a dining room for meals where everyone sits together and chat.

After the hospital we ran down to the market to pick up a few things and seen Cindy's new location, lovely Cindy.. The market is so decorated , looks lovely for the tourist coming into the city.

I picked up a couple of  postcards at Cindy's , loved the front of them.
