Home from another winter in Myrtle Beach 2020

Its been a year since I wrote on my blog  and it was a great year for us all. We went to Myrtle beach for 2 months  but unfortunately we returned to Canada a few weeks earlier than expected because of the recent outbreak of the Coronavirus that has hit the world.  At first we thought it was only in China as we listened on the news but as time went by we heard it was spreading to other countries in rapid  speed.  Our family began writing us telling us to pack up and get home, the border may close. By day 3 I began thinking maybe it is best we head home although life in Myrtle beach was not really showing signs of the virus other than people were buying toilet paper and santizer up in rapid speed.  I did manage to get the last container o wipes in  Publix off the shelf on our way to yet another evening out to dinner as restaurants remained opened at that point.

Within a day we packed, decided it was time to go home as our family were beginning to panic and off we went taking 3 nights to get home due to snow in Maine and New Brunswick. As we travelled along conditions were beginning to get very noticeable especially in New York, New Jersey, Conn and Mass.  We filled our tank with gas and pushed forward through these areas as quickly as possible as they were becoming hot spots.

We arrived home the 18th safely, no problems at border, they asked mainly about our health and where we had been, they really were not concerned about what we spent .

It is now day 7 since we have been home and 7 more days of quarantine .  It has not been bad, a bit of cleaning out of drawers and closets and watching the news. One thing I will say for our province, Premier Higgs seems to be doing a great job keeping it contained by  imposing a state of emergency early, closing border crossings to NS, Quebec and of course the United States.

Lets hope we are all safe from this virus in the near future.
