Well St Patricks day is big in Myrtle beach and despite rain the event went for 2 days and thousands gathered to celebrate.............. I personally have never attempted to drive there but watch on tv every year.  tonight a gang of us are going to golf club for a St Patricks day evening with drinks and a jig's dinner or other foods if not a fan of the jig's.

Yesterday I had a nice time at the beach for about 2 hours walking along the shore with my feet in water and it was warm.

A little trip to Holly Lobby (My new favorite store) and picked up a few gifts ..............the scrapbooking section is unbelievable . Met Lucy tand Marie there and we are all going to the church fish dinner Friday.

coffee time

Marie, Lucy and Anitha

Anita, Pat, Debbie and Marie...

A get together for a few of the wives this AM.. enjoyed coffee at Lucy's and met her cousin Marie from Edmonton, Alberta.

The phone rang, its Rick, where is the gallery?  ..............we immediately went to the patio and there they were in their golf carts heading for the green.  Hard to get a good picture as taking it through the screening.

Saturday was a cold and miserable day.............we stayed in and relaxed, watched tv and caught a nap.
Played sequence in the evening with the Hiltz's..

Back to Barefoot Landing

Browsing..

Pat meets Kathleen.....lol

A new addition...this year

Our visit down the road to the landing where a number of little shops can be a very interesting way to pass a day.

You will see rocking chairs all along the shops to have a seat and you just never know who you may meet from
back home.

Johnny Rockets is an old memory, we always enjoyed going in for a snack and putting money in jute box  and having the waitresses and waiters dance to the music.. years ago they use to even stand on the counter dancing.

Well its Friday, hope everyone has a great weekend....

The beach

Anitha enjoying conversation ...

In front of Cabana

Inside cabana, an area to eat, another to sun.

The beach

Went down to the beach to see if the cabana was open to Barefoot residence but rules have changed and you have to be a home owner to use, what a sin because we sure have enjoyed in the past few years on trips to the beach.

Anitha and I went into a MacDonald's for lunch, it was so funny for her to meet up with 2 different people who had spent time in India so they all talked about areas they visited while there.  Anitha was really surprised when they said hello to her in her own language.

Wishing our son Malcolm a very happy birthday today....thinking of you and hope your day is great..

Also happy birthday to Graham... (nephew) who celebrates today..

Walk for cancer

It was a touching scene to look out the window and see the many many people taking part in the walk for cancer.  The barefoot resort was the perfect spot to have the run going in and out of the many sub divisions. People were dressed in their pink tu tu's, and a few were dressed head to toe in pink.

Some interesting facts:

There are 31 flavors of ice cream....see the 31 in center.

This is where Susan worked in high school.

Neat.......

See the bowl of salsa over the letter I  and two t's represent people..

letter L is a staple

overall image is a Spartan

Well folks just a little quiz for you today...

King Kong in Myrtle Beach

Well it does not take long to  notice new places along the strip and this one certainly caught our eye. KING KONG....... and I really think it will be an adventure to take in this year.  A wax Museum.

A sushi bar is on the premises but not for me, really can't say I ever tried it but raw fish... no thank you.

Today was lovely and I took a drive down to the beach, it was windy and foggy there but many people walking along the edge of the beach.

I heard from Susan last night that Garret and Trent played on same team last night at hockey and she
was so proud when she seen the Cormier brothers working together with an assist from Garret and a goal for Trent... would have loved to see that game.  Later Trent played for a Midget team.

March break is over for the kids at home........ its back to school.

Have a good day everyone.

New stores hit Myrtle beach

It was in the beginning stages when we left Myrtle beach last year and its a shopping center now with several stores including these two Publix and Hobby Lobby.

We were so happy to see the beautiful fresh vegetables and meat displayed and right away we decided we were shopping here.  Not only do they carry all your bags for you to the car but they sometimes give you a coupon for an item next time your in, we got waffles and Paula and Laurie got Apple sauce.

Hobby Lobby is a shop I need a rainy day for, its unbelievable, puts AC Moore to shame.  Everything you can imagine in that store.

Laurie had to snap a picture when he seen us all with our computers and ipads around the table.  No conversation just silence.... lol

Anitha and Rama's area....

I went over to Anitha's yesterday to get the grand tour of the area surrounding the building they are in this year and was quite shocked at what is offered included in their rental.  It is a lovely spot.

I didn't take pictures inside the condo yet but believe me it is gorgeous and looking across from their building you see what is offered in the gym... yes a gym. lol

I know the girls will be surprised to see Anitha on the equipment but there she is and is doing good. I decided to try it out myself and it is great for rainy days when you can't walk outside and that pool, oh whow, and hot tub to.

The big room you see can be used by anyone if they are having a gathering and a kitchen is provided as well.  Just check with lady in the office.

A walking trail goes all around the waterway and you can see barges and ships going up through.

A lovely spot for sure.  Glad they booked again for next year too..
