Bella

Had a lovely day in Oromocto  attending Velma's 80th birthday party .  Lovely get together
with everyone.

After the party Paula took me to a craft store, one of my favorite things to do; and of course
I got a few things, even found something for her to buy for Laurie, lol..

After we returned to Paula and Laurie's for a lovely supper which I might add Laurie made and it
was delicious, corn chowder, Paula made my favorite diet dessert which she surprised me with and
I must add the guys liked it to.  Strawberry jello (no sugar) , 1 cup boiling water and a container of
cottage cheese , let set a few hours, serve with strawberries and a dab of whip cream. delicious.

A great day.

Susan wrote me a note when I got back that Lacrosse was exciting today. Garret in finals tomorrow at
Kaye arena so better get up and going in the morning.

Tim Hortons Camp for Kids

Yesterday I walked up to my doctors in the morning, it was a nice day so after I decided to
go to Tims and have a coffee and watch the children playing various games outside, it was
kids for camp day and the staff were busy entertaining the children as well as the adults
who came in to buy coffee and enter a few ballots for prizes.

there were 4 baskets , one for a child, a dog, a man and a woman.  I decided since it was
fathers day I would go for the mens.  For some reason I really felt I might win.  I asked the
girl when they were drawing and she said after closing tonight but we will call you in the morning.
I thought that was strange that she would call me, lol  but figured Yes maybe you will.

This morning I went on to cardiac Rehab, Kate met me and we went on to Costco.  After
we dropped into the house I noticed their was a message and it was Tim Hortons, I won
the basket for the man as above.

Most gifts were car cleaning supplies, gift certificate for 30.00 Rossano's, a Dooley's
letter for use of a room which we passed on to Kate, throw and pillow for travelling, set
of screwdrivers, trimmer..... shammy for car lots of clothes and sponges.

Heart Rehab walk at Centennial Park

Nancy with a fellow who started raising money in Jan for Cardiac Rehab

warm ups

many geese and their babies

Myself with Nurse Denise

Nancy head of Cardiac Rehab

Mal and I with winning gift card

Emmanuel from my class

Well this morning completed the 5 km walk for Cardiac Rehab and must say it got easier after a
few loops around the pond.  A good turn out, many grads from previous years and more grads
including myself in 3 weeks.

I really didn't know much about the walk till this morning and certainly will be participating
in years to come and hope next year to help more with raising money for cardiac rehab as it
certainly is a wonderful program.  This years total was 7600.00 raised.

I won a gift card to of all places Montana's for 25.00 ,lol  and there were many winners there
to from various donations .  The tim Horton's group were there with coffee and gave each of
us a gift card for a free coffee at any of their coffee shops.  Lots of water, energy bars and fruit
there for the walkers.

Believe me if any of you have a trip to Saint John for the heart you will benefit from the
cardiac program following, its for 12 weeks and certainly changes your life for the better.

happy 18th birthday Trent

Garret has the next birthday in July

Kate

Trent turns 18 and poor boy has concussion but didn't stop him from supper out
with the family, off to Classic Burger in Dieppe.  First time there for any of us and
they treated the birthday boy to his supper.

We then went back to the house for Cake but Sue and I were good and had WW lemon
squares, made with no sugar jello, 1 cup boiling water and 1 container of cottage cheese
put into blender and blend till well mix, usually I leave on a few minutes. each square counts
as 2 points.

Came home and Garret went on to lacrosse practice and Trent had a few friends over for
the evening.

Maika's Lemonade stand

Happy weekend all,

well its been a busy week but we all knew we had to be on board for Maika's Lemonade stand today.

First of all let me explain where this all started.....Maika told her family that she really wanted to do something nice for the children at the hospital, she wanted to give to the Ronald MacDonald house
and have a lemonade stand to raise money.  Her parents thought it was a wonderful idea so they helped this little 5 year old with invitations on facebook, a live video of Maika and everyone fell
in love with this little Angel.

It started raining this morning but they didn't give up, plans went ahead and the cars started coming,
e transfers were sent by people who could not make it and people came from around the neighbourhood.

Lemonade, Ice Tea, and cookies and hot dogs at noon for 1 hr..........Maika's goal was to make $500.00 and she far exceeded that......A donation of toys go to the hospital and a cash donation with the rest will be made this week.  Maika will be a big sister very soon........she is one sweet girl..

The last picture you see is of my two grandsons who played field lacrosse last night against the teams
in Saint John, Saint John won both games but it was not without effort as they had a few missing players and one being the goalie and our grandson Trent took a hit and was out of the game with a
concussion.  He did not get to go to PEI today on bus like the other players did for 2 more games.

Hi everyone, I know its not normally a day I blog but went to Fredericton with Susan, Garret and Kate for the lacrosse games.  It was a great couple of games winning 1 and losing 1 for the Royals.

Beautiful spot for the game with a walking track in Arena 2 above the rink.

Paula and Laurie dropped by to see us and see a bit of the game.  Great to see them.

Sunday

St John the Baptist Church

Robin's nest
The first picture is of the church Malcolm and I were married in 68 years ago in  August and
sadly it will be closing its doors in Saint John along with other very popular churches will be closed.

The second picture is of a Robins nest found in our neighbours baby barn yesterday, it was abandoned by the mother Robin and once the nest was disturbed she did not come back.  3 little blue
eggs were inside , we moved it to a nearby tree but don't think she will come back.

The Royal Wedding

It was 7:30 this morning when I turned the tv on waiting for the Royal wedding and seeing the
very special marriage of Harry and Meagan celebrated this day, like Matthew and Kate's wedding
I watched all day when home.

The little ones who came down the isle with the the bride did amazing, nice to see them taking part
especially Ben Malroney's children from Canada, and of course Charlotte and George.

I wonder how long it will be before the next Royal wedding.
