The Nationals

It was a lovely day to cruise around Moncton with the boys to see the old cars .  We had a lot
just on Mountain Road and people were lined up everywhere.  The Nationals are very popular with the people in the area and usually good food and entertainment goes with it.

Drove the boys home after to have a swim in the pool and Garret was practicing his Lacrosse for Provincial games tomorrow against Nova Scotia guys and GIRL"S team... lol should be interesting.

Gilbert watches out for the kids when they are in the pool, sometimes he loses his footing and ends up in pool.

Early morning appointment for arm, x-rays to start with.  Doctor says arms seems good but thinks I need a little therapy to get arm a little straighter so off to Advanced therapy on Wednesday.

a few with you today.  Unfortunately Garret was at lacrosse so missed the party but his heart was there and we missed him.

Donnie with nephew Neil who organized surprise ..

Kathy's camera took lovely pictures and it was so good of her to share with us...Donnie was
truly surprised and seen many relatives and friends this week he had not seen in a long time.

Lots of memories shared this week..........

boys climb the wharf

Another hot day another plunge into the cold water but when your young it doesn't matter.
Sue had day off so headed to a friends for the afternoon and the boys enjoyed the day for sure.

I went for a little walk around a couple of blocks here, felt good and now to do every day.  Did a BBQ for supper and
headed to visit friends in evening.  While I was out walking I got a text I didn't see till evening from  an old friend Mary Jayne Lowe as most of you know her as , Mary Jayne was in Moncton and wanted to get together for lunch, I felt so bad that
I missed that text , we have been friends over 60 years......This time I gave her phone no and cell no...

Another hot one today.... Trent stayed the night and I think he stayed up pretty late so pancakes will be closer to lunch time. lol

Garret staying tonight, told me its been awhile.

Till tomorrow..

Lazy Day

I lost my teeth when I was only 16 so I am always stressing the importance of brushing your teeth
to the grandchildren........I was so lucky with my own kids, never had to say a thing they were good about their teeth but the grandchildren.....another story..

Oh, I Wish I’d Looked After Me Teeth
Listen
Oh, I wish I’d looked after me teeth,
 And spotted the dangers beneath
 All the toffees I chewed,
 And the sweet sticky food.
Oh, I wish I’d looked after me teeth.
I wish I’d been that much more willin’
When I had more tooth there than fillin’
To give up gobstoppers,
 From respect to me choppers,
And to buy something else with me shillin’.
When I think of the lollies I licked
And the liquorice allsorts I picked,
 Sherbet dabs, big and little,
 All that hard peanut brittle,
 My conscience gets horribly pricked.
My mother, she told me no end,
‘If you got a tooth, you got a friend.’
I was young then, and careless,
 My toothbrush was hairless,
I never had much time to spend.
Oh I showed them the toothpaste all right,
I flashed it about late at night,
 But up-and-down brushin’
And pokin’ and fussin’
Didn’t seem worth the time – I could bite!
If I’d known I was paving the way
 To cavities, caps and decay,
 The murder of fillin’s,
 Injections and drillin’s,
I’d have thrown all me sherbet away.
So I lie in the old dentist’s chair,
And I gaze up his nose in despair,
And his drill it do whine
 In these molars of mine.
‘Two amalgam,’ he’ll say, ‘for in there.’

How I laughed at my mother’s false teeth,
As they foamed in the waters beneath.
 But now comes the reckonin’
It’s methey are beckonin’
Oh, I wish I’d looked after me teeth.

Oh it was a hot one yesterday, rain in the night sun in the day perfect..A good day for a BBQ
and a salad.....

Also picked up lovely strawberries, so sweet so Strawberry shortcakes...what more can you ask for.

Moncton had another scare this week, fortunately it was only a scare , poor guy went into Princess Auto with leaf springs in a bag and someone call 911 thinking it was a gun...oh I guess we are all timid right now.

People in Fredericton and Miramichi still without power, one lady on my facebook has decided she is ready to go Amish.... she is looking for a little white hat.. its good some can joke about it all. Power companies are trying their best.

Kate went to dentist, has to have 4 wisdom teeth out.....

See you tomorrow...

Rib fest before Arthur hit

Susan and Rob attended the rib fest on Friday night before Arthur made its way in our area. We were lucky, no damage except our rose bush got smashed about but had a call from my friend Paula and they lost power in Fredericton area at 7:30 and at noon still no sign of it, trees down everywhere even across their driveway and poor pumpkin went out and wind lifted her right off the ground.

Rib fest was a big hit and the kids really enjoyed it. Music was great but they sure would not have anyone around Sat I am sure so good it started Friday.

Malcolm made a big pot of macroni and meat and chili so we were set for weekend...

Lynda pays a visit from Edmonton Alberta.......

Every year Lynda arrives in New Brunswick and tries  to visit family and friends in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.  I have to hand it to her because she certainly leaves no one out.  My friend Sandy was here for coffee and I got her to snap a couple of pictures and also added our graduation photos from St Vincents in 1968.  46 years ago and I have no idea where those years went, I promised I would try to definitely make it to 50th  or even lunch like I did a few years back with some of them.

These are pictures of the graduating class now who got together from 1968 this
past winter and those who attended the reunion in  summer of 2013

This original 1968 class....
As you can see there is quite a difference in size from 1968 - 2013 , some moved far away, some no longer with us and some who are unable to attend due to health reasons but the alumne overall with all graduates continues on...

Mac and Bill started Day at the Golf Course, Sue having little gathering of friends for pool time so we probably will drop by before heading to fire works.... Definitely want to be part of the day on the waterfront as the fireworks in honor of our 3 fallen RCMP officers and there memory is a big part of Canada Day...
