Myrtle Beach Get together

 

Well it was a good turn out at the 1st Annual Myrtle Beach Get together and I think

everyone had a great time...........

 

We sure had lots of laughs and talked about our past years down there.  Everyone

brought a different dish to the potluck and it was so good.

 

The day started out crazy but we managed through it with a trip to Wheatons , a  coffee

at Tims before the gang arrived. 

 

The men won the sequence game but we will see who the champs are when we meet again.

 

Also happy 44th Anniversary to my hubby........We have been together 50 years and its been a great ride.

Well what a nice surprise to see Paula ,Laurie and Pumpkin  arrive arrive Wednesday night in the rain as golf is early
in the morning.  It was a nice evening with a game of sequence which the women won.  It was getting quite warm as the
evening went on and we all had a good laugh when Mac got the fan out , sat it on the floor and Paula hollered "It Penetrates more if its up"........ which we had a good laugh.


Now I thought we were well organized for the get together BUT....first of all when Paula went to bake a cake, oven not working.... It wasn't even 8 in the morning but I figured my neighbour was up so off we went in our night clothes through the yard with the cake.....after that the meatballs went over.  I placed a call to our dear friend "Bill" in a panic and God love him he was right over and in no time I had a working oven. When Paula asked me to move the cake it also landed on the floor.lol  Then I put sauce for the meatballs all over her legs.  Thank god this morning is over.

Well then when Paula asked for my curling iron and I went to bathroom the curling iron was covered in shampoo, a LARGE container got a hole in it and it was everywhere and subs ............A glass of wine is necessary at this moment. lol

I really didn't have any plans for a blog today..... haha..   

Shirley's garden

It was a nice surprise last night when Malcolm's aunt from Sackville Nova Scotia called that they were in the area and would be over to visit, unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of  them but found Shirley's garden to share with you. Beautiful.... Her daughter Kim and son Kevin were with her, Kevin just moved to the area as a pilot for West Jet..

Also wanted to share a friends photos of the Tidal Bore which she caught the other evening and They were the best photos I have seen of the  bore.  Thought a lot of people have not actually seen it and many people don't get the chance even when in Moncton.

Beautiful weather out there and great week for the pools and beaches..... I imagine Magic mountain is full by early morning.  We are getting ready for a gathering of the Myrtle Beach crowd on Thursday and looking forward to it.. Seems even though most of us live in the area we don't see each other so this is the first time.. Looking forward to it.

Well it was  a beautiful weekend and although we didn't go anywhere we enjoyed just
the nice weather to sit on the patio .

Kate and Gilbert arrived on Saturday for a sleepover, we all watched a great movie "the angriest Man in Brooklyn" starring Robin Williams..... one of his last movies. Don't think there is a movie he didn't bring laughter to it.

 

 

Sunday was the perfect day to hit the beach before school starts, lots of people are winding down

for those last days of summer. Sounds like more good weather ahead for the week.

Had a couple of visitors for a few days, Trent came over and then our neighbour asked us to watch Chester who Malcolm has been giving treats to for a few years now lol.  Chester's grandpa picked him up this afternoon..

And here is a picture of our bathroom cupboards all painted.... they turned out so good. New sink and taps and towel holder and of course toilet..

Had a lovely lunch with Sandy and Anna today, great time girls......we will do it again real soon.

It was a great time at Linda's for a pot luck which everyone brought something different.

We shared lots of stories and caught up on all the latest goings on since we last met.  Linda
had been away a lot the last two years so I had not seen her and she handed us all an envelope
with pictures of the past and a poem Margarite had written awhile back.

I got the train on Monday morning after a great visit , sorry I didn't get to see my cousins but the
Napan fair was on and Jan was working it......next time.

So while I was away my dear husband did some work in the bathroom with the help of his
friend Bill.  Thank you guys.... looks great.

Shower for Jordan

It was a lovely shower for Jordan, Baby received many lovely gifts and all were

surprised by the diaper cake and the baby boy cake the great grandmothers brought to the party.

 

Many games were played and boy they were hard, the younger generation didn't seem to have

as many problems with the answers.

 

On Saturday we went out for lunch with Stephen and Kelly and then to church followed by a bit of visiting.  Preparing for a pot luck supper tomorrow at Linda's..

Arrived in Miramichi Thursday when Stephen (Pats son in Law) drove down to get me.
On Friday morning Pat and I went to The farmers market before getting ready for the baby shower
for Jordan .

ad a delicious meal, all homemade and one of my favorite vegetables, Turnip.Was it good.
Seen many familiar faces and talked to a few gals like Susan Butler and one of the girls who
owned Squirrels next, a favorite place to go for gifts for many occasions.

Spent the afternoon decorating, making sandwiches and lots of laughs once Kelly arrived
to help out.  Shower was a success..... pictures tomorrow.


  

Gang back home and tired...

 

Well we were at airport to pick up the gang and boy a tired group of people got off the

plane.  It was so funny to run into an old friend Mary D, whom I worked with for quite a few years and see when I go to Miramichi at the dinners.

 

The last day the kids were in Vancouver they went sightseeing and go carts, Garret wants to travel

he loves this life, lol..... Better study hard if you want the travelling life.

 

Gilbert was so excited to see his family, he jumped for joy.  They brought him a new toy so he dropped the one we got him the other day and took to the new one. We keep looking for him around the house.

 

Well I am off to Miramichi tomorrow for the rest of week so no blogs till I am back.  Have a good weekend.
