Colors of fall.....

Drove through to Havelock and took in the beauty of the colors of fall. Love
to see those old country roads and you never know what you are going to find
on them.  We spotted some old farm equipment, old farm house that looked
like it was lived in, the chickens were in the yard beside the house and
their was a satalite up on the roof but hardly a window in the front porch.

While walking up the road to snap this picture I could feel eyes on me....
I turned around to see this  fellow, watching me closely, (Little does he know
he probably will be this families meat for winter).

It was starting to get dark by the time we hit the highway again so end of picture
taking for another day but I never can have enough pictures of fall.

Green pig country market

It was a beautiful day so felt a drive up the highway to check out the fall colors was in order.
The corn maze looked pretty busy with lots of kids having fun getting lost among the high corn
stocks.

We decided we may as well have supper at the Big Stop and when we went in it was lined to the
door, but it moved along very fast and we had a table in no time.  I decided to have chicken with mushrooms and melted Mozzarella cheese  and it was delicious.... now my favorite at Big stop.

Pies made and frozen for Thanksgiving , kitchen smelled some good .

Hockey has started both for the younger generation and the older generation who love to go see
the wild cats make them proud... hope all have a good season.

Zucchini muffins

1 1/2  cup flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp nutmeg (I prefer cinnamon)
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 baking powder
2 eggs
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup oil. Crisco mazolla or sunflower etc. but not olive oil
2 cups grated zucchini grated and drained for awhile
1/2 cup golden raisins

Mix all together, fill muffin tins that are lined with paper. (about 3/4 full)

Bake 350 for 25 minutes or until brown and toothpick
comes out clean.
They don't get very brown but are cooked...

Enjoy..
Zucchini muffins

Decided I may as well use the rest of the pie dough so I made an apple pie for Thanksgiving, unfortunately it didn't make it to freezer, lol  Guess I'll get more apples for pies .

This morning we went for a walk in the park and after we decided to go all out and get a coffee and muffin at MacDonald's......(a little treat after the walk).  When I walked in the woman who had helped Malcolm and I a few weeks ago with an order that got mixed up smiled as if she remembered me.  Viven said That's Brian Gallant 's Mom, Our new Premier.. What a lovely lady.
Malcolm's Jr's tomatoes and peppers

Still lots to turn red out there...............

1st day of fall yesterday..

ducks heading to food...

First day of fall and even though it was a bit chilly it was a nice walk through the park.  I met the girls
at 9:30 and had a bag of bread for the ducks, I swear they can smell it before you reach them. lol

The leaves are changing fast, hard to believe one day green and the next day red..............I love
fall and the crisp air.

Had an appointment with the specialist yesterday, arm coming along good but an x-ray  showed
arthritis now in my wrist and thumb....... was so surprised how the x-ray showed so clearly.

Have a great fall day.

Beets for Mac...

Sunday morning we had a couple of surprise visitors, Kelly and Stephen came down from
Miramichi and brought a bottle of beets to Malcolm , Stephen on his way back out west for
twenty days working  so probably will miss the birth of his grandson due next week.  Glad Kelly got
facetime now. lol

I came across my picture of my cousin Gloria's wedding and knew I had to have a page  in
my smash book remembering such a great cousin.  We didn't get to see each other often but
through e-mails and phone calls we kept in touch.  I got to spend a few hours with her before she
passed away and they were the best few hours I had in a long time. She shared so many good
memories of times she had .  You never visited Gloria that you didn't sign the book. lol..
So many times I got the recipe from her for swiss steak, in the book I have the hand written copy
she sent with the words "Final copy" haha....

Sunday did bring the sun and it warmed right up.  Have a good evening everyone.

cold day for yard sale

We decided to go over and see how the garage sale was going but not before we
texted to see who needed a coffee, I got a response very quickly with a list.

 We did arrive
in time to meet the most interesting yard sale shoppers we seen in a long time, by the time
they left you would swear they were family. lol  Stayed for about 45 min and I guess they
bought quite a few items which included purchases for a shelter.  The kids were getting a kick
out of them and they hugged everyone as they left.

These are my beautiful Mums we received on our anniversary from Anitha and Rama,
they are so pretty and look lovely by the front door. Saturday   night we did put them in garage
in case of frost.

A cool idea for holding that spoon up from slipping into your soup or sauce...

Magical memories

Its been over a year since the kids went to Disney with Sue and Rob and their friends
The Harrisons but I am a little late working on the smash book so I will add both vacations
in one book.

I have been working on 3 smash books when time allows and now that the cool weather is
moving in bringing fall I imagine I'll have  more time.

Made another pie last night after Malcolm returned from the specialist , He walked into the
house with 1/2 doz rolls from Nanna's bakery, he had no bread past few weeks when there was the
possibility he had celiac disease but tests confirmed it was not.

hope you all have a wonderful weekend.....

We meet again......

we lost touch until last year, when I saw Lois's name on facebook.  I thought of this
good friend so many times over the years and wondered where she was living and
how she was doing.

Just before we left for Myrtle Beach we got to meet Lois and her husband Dave as they
passed through Moncton and we had coffee, snapped a few pictures and caught up and
then today Lois drove to Moncton so we could spend the day together and we had a great visit.

Took Lois to Wheatons and Marshalls , two stores not in Saint John yet and lunch
at Homestead.

Had a great day..............

Now this is Lois, she brought Picture to show us.....she is with Malcolm's brother George and Dennis Chanard who we have not heard of in50 years........ funny part of it all is its taken in Malcolm's old girlfriends house. Linda Marr..... boy he turned red when we showed him....lol
