Through back Thursday

Found a few oldies Taken many years ago .  In the first photo Mac is in one of our first
apartments or flats as we called them back then.  He was preparing his clothing for work at finance company, his job after he left university.  (you see I had him trained back then doing the ironing) lol..

And then there I am in my "The Bay" Nightgown, thank goodness it was not made of wool like their
blankets ........

And many of you must remember the hair setting pins and hair nets we suffered with years ago, later they came out with rollers which were even worse than pins......Thank God they invented the curling iron later on.

Whow it was hot yesterday, but today cooled off. Trent leaves in morning with his parents for field lacrosse in Boston, wishing him luck...I know the boys enjoy the game of lacrosse so so much.

Gilbert will be our guest for the weekend and Kate and Garret going to Rob's parents.  They will enjoy the heated pool for sure.

Strawberries

Its strawberry season and they taste some good.  We made strawberry shortcakes for dessert but not making jam this year, we just never seem to eat it. But make sure we have a few bottles for friends.

The second picture you see is a gadget (Smoker) Susan's friend gave her.  It's to get rid of bugs , you put a tray from Tim Hortons in the little drawer and set it on fire and it burns a couple of hours, they think its working.

We had a little friend out in the yard behind us, I rushed to call the folks who live there because they have a dog Chester, but found out this groundhog has been in neighbourhood for a few years.. What you find out while talking to neighbours lol..

Nadine could not believe the size of the groundhog and I guess it ate all her lettuce in her garden today.

playing against the girls

This was the first games the Provincial lacrosse team played against the Nova Scotia team both Boys and girls team.
They played very good games but those girls sure could play also..

First game 7-2 for NB against boys NS team and second game NB played was 5-1 against the girls., have to say the team really are good at passing pass around.

We went to Patterson's restaurant for lunch and did a little tour of the area, Kate was with us so we showed her how big the University was there.  Downtown we seen an old Save Easy Store, been awhile since I seen one.

After we got home Kate was planning on a BBQ with Austin for the neighbour people, they have fun.

Watched Mistresses and Masterchef, 2 of my favorite shows... I admit I like TV., got Malcolm into Masterchef too...lol.

The Nationals

It was a lovely day to cruise around Moncton with the boys to see the old cars .  We had a lot
just on Mountain Road and people were lined up everywhere.  The Nationals are very popular with the people in the area and usually good food and entertainment goes with it.

Drove the boys home after to have a swim in the pool and Garret was practicing his Lacrosse for Provincial games tomorrow against Nova Scotia guys and GIRL"S team... lol should be interesting.

Gilbert watches out for the kids when they are in the pool, sometimes he loses his footing and ends up in pool.

Early morning appointment for arm, x-rays to start with.  Doctor says arms seems good but thinks I need a little therapy to get arm a little straighter so off to Advanced therapy on Wednesday.

Donnie with nephew Neil who organized surprise ..

Kathy's camera took lovely pictures and it was so good of her to share with us...Donnie was
truly surprised and seen many relatives and friends this week he had not seen in a long time.

Lots of memories shared this week..........

Another hot day another plunge into the cold water but when your young it doesn't matter.
Sue had day off so headed to a friends for the afternoon and the boys enjoyed the day for sure.

I went for a little walk around a couple of blocks here, felt good and now to do every day.  Did a BBQ for supper and
headed to visit friends in evening.  While I was out walking I got a text I didn't see till evening from  an old friend Mary Jayne Lowe as most of you know her as , Mary Jayne was in Moncton and wanted to get together for lunch, I felt so bad that
I missed that text , we have been friends over 60 years......This time I gave her phone no and cell no...

Another hot one today.... Trent stayed the night and I think he stayed up pretty late so pancakes will be closer to lunch time. lol

Garret staying tonight, told me its been awhile.

Till tomorrow..

Lazy Day

I lost my teeth when I was only 16 so I am always stressing the importance of brushing your teeth
to the grandchildren........I was so lucky with my own kids, never had to say a thing they were good about their teeth but the grandchildren.....another story..

Oh, I Wish I’d Looked After Me Teeth
Listen
Oh, I wish I’d looked after me teeth,
 And spotted the dangers beneath
 All the toffees I chewed,
 And the sweet sticky food.
Oh, I wish I’d looked after me teeth.
I wish I’d been that much more willin’
When I had more tooth there than fillin’
To give up gobstoppers,
 From respect to me choppers,
And to buy something else with me shillin’.
When I think of the lollies I licked
And the liquorice allsorts I picked,
 Sherbet dabs, big and little,
 All that hard peanut brittle,
 My conscience gets horribly pricked.
My mother, she told me no end,
‘If you got a tooth, you got a friend.’
I was young then, and careless,
 My toothbrush was hairless,
I never had much time to spend.
Oh I showed them the toothpaste all right,
I flashed it about late at night,
 But up-and-down brushin’
And pokin’ and fussin’
Didn’t seem worth the time – I could bite!
If I’d known I was paving the way
 To cavities, caps and decay,
 The murder of fillin’s,
 Injections and drillin’s,
I’d have thrown all me sherbet away.
So I lie in the old dentist’s chair,
And I gaze up his nose in despair,
And his drill it do whine
 In these molars of mine.
‘Two amalgam,’ he’ll say, ‘for in there.’

How I laughed at my mother’s false teeth,
As they foamed in the waters beneath.
 But now comes the reckonin’
It’s methey are beckonin’
Oh, I wish I’d looked after me teeth.

Oh it was a hot one yesterday, rain in the night sun in the day perfect..A good day for a BBQ
and a salad.....

Also picked up lovely strawberries, so sweet so Strawberry shortcakes...what more can you ask for.

Moncton had another scare this week, fortunately it was only a scare , poor guy went into Princess Auto with leaf springs in a bag and someone call 911 thinking it was a gun...oh I guess we are all timid right now.

People in Fredericton and Miramichi still without power, one lady on my facebook has decided she is ready to go Amish.... she is looking for a little white hat.. its good some can joke about it all. Power companies are trying their best.

Kate went to dentist, has to have 4 wisdom teeth out.....

See you tomorrow...
